Biobío Province elderly clubs awarded SENAMA national funds
A total of 133 elderly organizations in the Biobío Province have been awarded funds from the National Fund for the Elderly (Fondo Nacional del Adulto Mayor) through SENAMA. The recognition ceremony took place at the Municipal Cultural Center in Los Ángeles.
The funding was divided into two distinct categories. The first line supported self-managed projects presented by organizations composed of elderly individuals to strengthen their organizational and management capacities. The second line was directed toward organizations working with the elderly in local territories to develop initiatives focused on social support and participation.
Regional officials, including the Seremi of Social Development and Family, Daniel Manchileo Rivas, and SENAMA regional coordinator Antaris Varela, attended the event. Officials noted that the funds aim to promote autonomy, community life, and active participation among the elderly population across various communes in the province.
