Biography of Flamenco Legend Manolo Marín Published in France
A new biography titled "Sólo quiero bailar. Manolo Marín" by Christine Diger was released by Villa Luce in Clamecy, France. The 261‑page book chronicles the life of Spanish flamenco dancer, choreographer and teacher Manolo Marín, born Manuel Domínguez Marín in Sevilla in 1936.
Marín trained as a listener in maestro Realito's academy, later directing a renowned flamenco school in Sevilla for four decades. His pupils include celebrated artists Cristina Hoyos, María Pagés and Rafael Campallo. He taught internationally, notably a 2006 course for the Maurice Béjarten Company in Switzerland, and earlier received a scholarship from Marie Rambert to study in London. Marín founded his own troupe, toured worldwide, and created works such as Suite Iberia de Albéniz, Flamencos del Altozano, and a version of Carmen presented by Carlos Saura at the Festival of Spoleto, Italy. He also collaborated with Hoyos and Pagés on productions like "Caminos andaluces" and "De la luna al viento".
