BIOKOSMOS Opens Renovated Basketball Court in Platanos, Greece

On 1 August, a fully renovated municipal basketball court in the village of Platanos, Naupaktia, Greece, was inaugurated. The project was funded by the Greek pharmaceutical company BIOKOSMOS as part of its corporate social‑responsibility programme. State representatives, local officials and hundreds of residents attended the ceremony. BIOKOSMOS President Angelos Pagones highlighted the importance of creating lasting community opportunities and thanked Deputy Governor Petros Pavlopoulos for his support. Local community president Georgios Polychronos presented a commemorative plaque and stressed the court’s role in encouraging young people to remain in the mountain villages. A friendly match followed, featuring former international players Giannis Bourousis and Sophocles Schortsianitis, showcasing the new venue’s potential as a hub for sport, meetings and creative activities for children and youth.
