Bioparque Washington Rodríguez Piquinela hosts school field trips

Students from schools in Salto and Artigas visited the Washington Rodríguez Piquinela Bioparque in Durazno, Uruguay. The excursion allowed pupils to observe approximately 500 animals across 80 different species.

Key highlights of the visit included seeing Manuela, a Japanese macaque, and Pancha, a hippopotamus. The educational program focused on biodiversity, conservation, and the challenges facing wildlife, such as habitat loss, pollution, illegal hunting, and wildlife trafficking.
