Samsung Biologics showcases manufacturing innovations at BPI Boston

Samsung Biologics participated in the BioProcess International (BPI) conference in Boston, showcasing its end-to-end contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) capabilities. The company presented strategies to accelerate biopharmaceutical development, including a case where integrated chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC) reduced development timelines from 13 months to 9.5 months.

Key technological highlights included the ‘S-Tensify’ platform, which increases cell density to double titers while maintaining quality, and a streamlined cell line development platform for complex molecules. The company also shared analytical strategies for measuring full capsid ratios in adeno-associated virus (AAV) products during the concurrent Cell & Gene Therapy International conference.

Separately, Shaperon presented its next-generation nanobody-drug conjugate (NDC) platform at the Biologics Manufacturing Korea 2026 event in Incheon. The NDC platform aims to simplify the manufacturing of antibody-drug conjugates by using albumin nanoparticles to deliver drugs without the need for chemical linkers, potentially reducing complex quality control requirements.
