Bios Hub to launch in Astros to promote bioeconomy and soil health

The Bios Hub is set to launch in Astros, North Peloponnese, with an inaugural event titled ‘Healthy Soil, Sustainable Future’ scheduled for September 27, 2026. Located at the Angeliki and Leonidas Zafeiri Memorial Foundation, the hub will serve as a collaborative center for the bioeconomy, soil health, innovation, and sustainable development within the Thyrea region.

The initiative is part of the European GOV4ALL project, which aligns with the European Union’s Mission Soil. The project aims to establish Living Labs and Rural Regeneration Hubs across the Mediterranean to promote regenerative soil management and empower rural communities.

The launch event will feature discussions on the challenges and prospects of Greek agriculture and agri-food systems. Key topics include climate-resilient soil management, carbon farming, the circular bioeconomy, applied research, and local bio-based entrepreneurship opportunities. The hub intends to bridge scientific knowledge with the practical needs of primary producers.
