Biotechnology advances target hair aging and scalp health

New biotechnological approaches are being introduced to address hair aging by targeting the scalp and hair follicle rather than just treating symptoms like graying or hair loss.

In Chile, K18 has introduced FutureIQ™, a biomimetic serum designed to combat premature hair aging. The product focuses on hair loss, density, graying, and scalp barrier health. Clinical studies over 12 weeks indicated progressive results, including a reduction in hair loss within the first month and an increase in hair density and volume by the third month. Expert visual evaluations also noted a reduction in gray hair presence.

In Spain, HD Cosmetic Efficiency has launched the X·CALP line, which approaches hair aging through epigenetics and scalp health. This range includes an intensive treatment, serum, and shampoo designed to work synergistically. The products aim to address gene expression, cellular vitality, and the follicular environment to combat the effects of oxidative stress, pollution, and UV radiation on the hair follicle.
