Biotechnology companies expand operations in Latin America
Argentine biotechnology firms are pursuing significant expansion strategies within the Latin American agricultural sector. NOVA, a leader in the Argentine biologicals market with an annual revenue of approximately US$ 110 million, is targeting Brazil as its primary global strategic focus. The company aims to develop plant nutrition solutions and establish local production partnerships. NOVA’s gradual expansion plan includes growing its commercial team, strengthening B2B and distribution alliances, and potentially establishing an industrial structure in Brazil, with a long-term revenue goal of R$ 600 million.
Biofilm, an agricultural biotechnology company founded in 2016, has announced an investment of over US$ 7 million to increase production capacity, bolster research and development, and advance its expansion across Latin America. After evolving from a third-party formulation model to developing proprietary technology for bioestimulants and seed treatments, the company now operates a 4,800 m² industrial plant. Biofilm intends to use this investment to double its professional team and scale its presence in the region.
