Biotechnology industry expands with BIX 2026 and Lotte Biologics global push

The biotechnology sector is seeing significant activity in October, with major industry events and corporate expansion efforts. The BIOPLUS-INTERPHEX KOREA 2026 (BIX 2026) is scheduled to take place from October 28 to 30 at COEX in Seoul. Supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the event will feature approximately 300 companies. Canada will participate as the guest country, sending a delegation of 30 bio and healthcare firms. Key sessions include demonstrations of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology by Possibility Neurotechnologies and discussions on the convergence of biotechnology and the food industry under the theme ‘Food as Medicine’.

Simultaneously, Lotte Biologics is launching a global marketing push to secure contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) orders. The company will participate in three major international events in October: CPHI Milan in Italy, Bio Japan in Yokohama, and World ADC in San Diego. Lotte Biologics aims to showcase its large-scale commercial production capabilities and its ‘dual site’ strategy, which links its Syracuse, US facility with its newly approved Songdo plant in South Korea, to provide supply chain stability for global pharmaceutical companies.
