BioTechUSA launches youth health program in Hungary

Hungarian teenagers face significant lifestyle challenges, with research from the Foundation for Nutritional Science indicating that nearly one-fifth of 14–17-year-olds are overweight or obese. Additionally, only one-third of this age group engages in regular physical activity.

To address these issues, the BioTechUSA 'Together for Youth Health' program offers interactive learning experiences for high school students, including cooking workshops, psychological escape rooms, and health competitions. The program aims to teach nutrition, body image, and mental well-being through practical experience. Participants can earn points redeemable for BioTechUSA funds, which are donated to the Etesd Foundation. The deadline for registration is midnight on September 13.

In the context of managing nutrition for picky eaters, including children on the spectrum, incorporating vegetables into familiar foods is suggested as a strategy. For example, chocolate muffins can be prepared with hidden ingredients like zucchini, carrots, and spinach to increase nutrient intake without causing food refusal.
