Bioware concludes its history after 31 years
Bioware, the video game developer founded in February 1995 by Greg Zeschuk, Ray Muzyka, and Augustine Yip, has reached the end of its history. The studio was established by the three University of Alberta graduates with $100,000 in startup capital to pursue their passion for role-playing and video games.
Over its 31-year existence, the company released 18 full titles. Its portfolio includes major global hits such as Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and the Dragon Age series. The studio's journey spanned from its early work on Shattered Steel to more modern releases like Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
