BioWare veteran expresses confidence in future Mass Effect development

Former BioWare cinematic designer Armando Troisi believes the studio maintains the expertise necessary to succeed with the next Mass Effect installment. Despite recent challenges and restructuring at the studio, Troisi argues that the core talent required to build a high-quality RPG remains in place.

Troisi highlights that several veterans from the original trilogy, including Preston Watamaniuk, Derek Watts, and Parrish Ley, are currently involved in the project. He suggests that the studio's best path forward involves focusing on strong single-player experiences, meaningful player choices, deep combat systems, and character development.

To ensure a successful comeback, Troisi emphasizes that Electronic Arts must grant the development team sufficient creative freedom. He supports the current approach of providing minimal teasers and status updates, allowing the team to focus entirely on development without external distractions.
