BIPA and PENNY announce retail expansion in Romania

Retailers BIPA and PENNY are expanding their presence in Romania. In Bucharest, both brands are set to open new locations within the Jumbo Center during the second half of 2026. The BIPA beauty and personal care store will occupy approximately 490 square meters, while the PENNY grocery unit will span about 1,380 square meters.

These openings are part of a broader development strategy for the Jumbo Center to increase foot traffic and establish the mall as a major retail destination in southwest Bucharest. The center has recently signed contracts for approximately 9,000 square meters of new tenant space.

BIPA is also accelerating its expansion across other Romanian regions. Recent or upcoming openings include locations in Pitești (Argeș Mall), Năvodari (Alezzi Towers), Bran, Slobozia, and Sfântu Gheorghe. As part of the REWE Group, BIPA aims to open between 20 and 25 new stores in Romania this year alone.
