Biplab Kumar Deb appointed BJP National General Secretary

Biplab Kumar Deb, the former Chief Minister of Tripura and current West Tripura MP, has been appointed as a National General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The announcement was made by BJP National President Nitin Nabin as part of a newly constituted team of eight General Secretaries.

This appointment marks the first time a leader from Tripura has received such a high-level organizational responsibility within the party. Deb previously oversaw election management in several states, including Delhi, Haryana, Odisha, and West Bengal.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and other senior party leaders welcomed the decision, noting that Deb’s administrative experience and grassroots understanding will strengthen the party’s national organizational network. The elevation is expected to increase Tripura’s representation within the BJP’s national structure.
