Bird festivals and competitions held in Spain and Argentina
Various bird-focused events are taking place in Spain and Argentina. In Alcalá, Spain, the Algüira Association is hosting its 42nd Ornithological Contest at the Caseta Municipal. The event features 2,130 captive-bred birds, primarily canaries, which are judged on color and posture varieties. The competition showcases the results of year-long breeding and selection efforts by specialists.
In Mar Chiquita, Argentina, the ninth edition of the Migratory Bird Festival is scheduled for October 31 and November 1. Organized by the Fundación Verde Pampa, the festival aims to promote the conservation of species within the Mar Chiquita Lagoon, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Activities include guided observation tours, environmental education workshops, and talks designed to raise awareness about protecting wetlands and coastal environments.
