BirdLife Sverige announces EuroBirdwatch migratory bird count

BirdLife Sverige is organizing EuroBirdwatch on October 3–4, an initiative where bird enthusiasts across Europe count migratory birds. The event takes place during the peak of the autumn migration, when millions of birds travel toward their wintering grounds.

Participation aims to increase scientific knowledge regarding migratory patterns and the necessity of protecting resting and wintering habitats. Protecting these environments is noted to benefit various other species and strengthen overall biodiversity. BirdLife Sverige encourages observers to report their findings to Artportalen by 5:00 PM on October 4. The organization works alongside BirdLife International to protect birds and their habitats along entire migration routes.
