Birigui food facility closed due to sanitary irregularities

Health authorities in Birigui, São Paulo, have shut down a clandestine food production facility following the discovery of severe sanitary irregularities. The operation, conducted by the Sanitary Surveillance agency with support from the Municipal Civil Guard, targeted a site used for the preparation and sale of meat skewers, hamburgers, and sausages.

Inspectors reported alarming conditions regarding hygiene, food conservation, and storage. The establishment operated without a license, using the premises for manufacturing during the day and commercial sales at night. Following an anonymous tip, authorities intervened, leading to the immediate disposal of some products and the seizure of others that were held pending compliance with sanitary requirements.
