Bir­imso Bridge crash shuts Accra‑Kumasi highway, police divert traffic

A multi‑vehicle collision on Monday, August 3, 2026, blocked both lanes of the Birimso Bridge on Ghana’s N6 Accra‑Kumasi Highway. The crash involved a high‑occupancy passenger bus, a heavily loaded articulated truck and a sedan, trapping vehicles on the bridge and halting traffic between the Eastern and Ashanti regions.
