Birla Opus Paints launches Onam campaign celebrating community

Birla Opus Paints, the paints business of Grasim Industries under the Aditya Birla Group, unveiled a new Onam campaign that uses a short film to showcase Kerala’s cultural traditions. The film follows a young woman and her grandmother as they prepare a home for the festival, recalling childhood community Pookalams and eventually rallying neighbours to transform a neglected courtyard into the centre of the celebration.

The campaign’s tagline, “Many Colours Make a Pookalam, Many Hearts Make an Onam,” stresses that while colours can transform spaces, it is shared experiences and community that give festivals meaning. Head of Marketing Inderpreet Singh said the film highlights “culture, community and camaraderie” as key to joyous celebrations, while Chief Creative Officer Sachin Kamble of Leo South Asia explained the creative inspiration behind the story. The film was released in Malayalam and Hindi across digital platforms, reinforcing Birla Opus Paints’ brand philosophy of using colour to bring people together.
