Birleşik Kamu-İş petitions to annul appointments made by Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya

The Birleşik Kamu-İş Confederation has formally applied to the Ministry of Family and Social Services to annul appointments made during the tenure of former Minister Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya. The confederation alleges that these appointments were irregular and constituted an abuse of administrative authority.

A key point of contention involves reports that Kaya changed her Private Secretary 60 times during her 776-day term. The confederation claims this frequency—averaging a change every 13 days—suggests that these exceptional positions were used as a means for individuals to transition into permanent roles in other public institutions without examinations, bypassing standard civil service regulations.

In response to ongoing allegations of fund misappropriation and corruption within the administration, some commentators have suggested the establishment of an investigative commission similar to those used during previous states of emergency to identify those responsible and prevent the concealment of misconduct.
