Birmingham and Irondale community events and awareness initiatives

The Birmingham metropolitan area is observing Sickle Cell Awareness and Childhood Cancer Awareness months. Local community activities include a performance by Yolanda Adams at Samford University scheduled for next Friday.

In Irondale, Mayor James D. Stewart, Jr. will host a finance town hall meeting at City Hall to discuss projected revenues, expenditures for fiscal year 2027, and the Visions Spending Plan. Other local engagements include a Mayor’s Veterans Table at the Irondale Public Library and volunteer opportunities at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama in Bessemer.

Various social and cultural events are scheduled throughout the region, including jazz at the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame, networking nights for filmmakers, and various themed music and karaoke events at local venues such as Majestic ULTRA Lounge, True Story Brewing, and Platinum.
