Birmingham City completes €7 million signing of Colombian midfielder Jhon Solís

Birmingham City exercised its purchase option and signed Colombian midfielder Jhon Solís on a permanent deal with Girona. The 21‑year‑old, who spent the second half of the season on loan at the Championship club, impressed with his physical style and ball‑winning ability, playing 17‑18 matches for Birmingham.

The transfer fee is reported at around €7 million (about £6 million or $8 million) and includes a long‑term contract running to June 2030. The club view Solís as a key piece in their ambition to challenge for promotion to the Premier League.

The move also marks another successful step for Colombian talent in Europe, following the player's earlier development at Atlético Nacional and his brief stint with Girona in Spain.
