Birmingham City signs Jhon Solis and unveils July pre‑season fixtures

Birmingham City have exercised their €7 million option to buy Colombian midfielder Jhon Solis from Girona, making the 21‑year‑old’s loan move permanent after 18 appearances and a goal in a 2‑1 win over Bristol City. Manager Chris Davies praised Solis and confirmed the club’s intention to retain him for the upcoming season.

The club’s pre‑season program will begin with a return to the Elite Performance and Innovation Centre at the end of June, followed by a six‑day training camp in the Algarve, Portugal, starting 5 July, which will include an open training session for fans in Lagos. On 25 July, Birmingham City will play simultaneous friendlies against League Two sides Crewe Alexandra at Mornflake Stadium and Northampton Town at Sixfields Stadium, splitting the squad to build fitness ahead of the 2026/27 Championship campaign and the early‑season Carabao Cup matches in August.
