Birmingham heatwave drives temperatures up to 35 °C

The Met Office issued a 24‑hour update warning that Birmingham will experience its hottest days of the week, with maximum temperatures expected to reach 34 °C on Thursday and climb to 35 °C on Friday. Forecasts for the next 48 hours call for clear, sunny conditions, light winds and high UV levels, with morning fog and mist clearing quickly. Overnight lows are set to remain mild, around 14‑15 °C.

The heatwave, which began earlier in the week, is expected to persist into the weekend, keeping daytime highs between 30 °C and 34 °C across the West Midlands. Residents are advised to stay hydrated and seek cooling environments as the region endures sustained high temperatures.
