Birmingham shooting near Legion Field leaves one dead and eight wounded

A shooting near Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama, resulted in one death and eight injuries following the 85th Magic City Classic football game. The incident occurred on Saturday night, October 31, near the 400 block of Graymont Avenue West, shortly after the rivalry game between Alabama A&M and Alabama State concluded.

Birmingham Police responded by immediately suspending all tailgating activities and ordering attendees to leave the stadium property. Mayor Randall Woodfin addressed the violence, stating that the incident should not overshadow the 85-year legacy of the event.
