Birmingham to host 2026 State of Homelessness Summit

The city of Birmingham has announced it will host the 2026 State of Homelessness Summit on Friday, November 6. Held in commemoration of National Homelessness Awareness Month, the event will take place at Boutwell Auditorium under the theme “Beyond Awareness to Action.”

Mayor Randall Woodfin stated that the city aims to transition from discussion to meaningful action by investing in housing and strengthening community partnerships. The summit will include remarks from city leaders, a showcase of local artists who have experienced housing instability, and professional learning sessions for service providers.

Following the summit, a community service project is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, in Birmingham’s Switch District. This project will involve local businesses and residents participating in a community cleanup and mural installation.
