Birra Oropa launches collaborative brewing project in Biella

Birra Oropa, a new collaborative beer firm, has been launched in the Biella region of Italy. Established under the new enterprise Leon d’Oro by Alessio Zegna, Christian Zegna, and Matilde Giacomini, the company operates using a model that focuses on recipe development, marketing, and communication rather than owning its own production facilities.

By partnering with existing local breweries, Birra Oropa aims to highlight the territory and its brewing expertise. The project’s first product, a 4.5% Session IPA named Burnell, was produced by the Microbirrificio Un Terzo and presented at the Bolle di Malto event. The company plans to expand its lineup to six different beers by 2027 through continued collaboration with local producers.
