Bisceglie: Calls for municipal accountability and healthcare safeguards

In Bisceglie, the political movement Libera il Futuro has called for the establishment of a Municipal Accountability Portal. The proposal aims to allow citizens to monitor administrative activities, mid-term budgets, and public data regarding inspections, sanctions, and completed works. Vincenzo Arena, president of the movement, argued that the portal should provide verifiable data on public spending and the progress of electoral programs to move beyond mere social media announcements.

Separately, regional health discussions in Bisceglie have focused on the future of local healthcare. Felice Spaccavento, president of the III Health Commission, emphasized the need to safeguard the existing Vittorio Emanuele II Hospital while the new Northern Bari Hospital is under development. Spaccavento stressed that current medical functions must be maintained and improved to serve the territory until the new facility is operational, while also advocating for a stronger integration of territorial healthcare services beyond hospital-centric models.
