Bisegna water shortage persists as repairs stall and power reconnection delayed

The municipality of Bisegna in Italy is confronting a severe water supply shortage. Ongoing structural problems, including the loss of the original supply line from "La Sorgenza" and reliance on the limited "Ferriera‑Pulciara" network, have left the town dependent on a few pumping stations. Recent efforts by the local water consortium (CAM) have repaired several large leaks and replaced an underperforming pump, restoring roughly one litre per second of flow.

However, the restored system cannot deliver water to the main reservoir until the electricity supply is reconnected. The contractor, utility company Hera, has delayed the required reconnection despite multiple reminders. In the interim, the municipality is considering a temporary generator to maintain service. The town has also issued a water‑use ordinance to curb non‑essential consumption while the infrastructure issues are resolved.
