Bishara Al-Asmar elected Chairman of Lebanon’s National Social Security Fund

Dr. Bishara Al-Asmar has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Lebanon’s National Social Security Fund. This appointment has been welcomed by the land transport sector, including its leaders, unions, and federations.

Bassam Tleiss, head of the land transport unions and federations in Lebanon, stated that Al-Asmar’s election is a significant achievement for the labor and union sectors. He noted that the move demonstrates the ability of workers to reach decision-making positions to protect their social and livelihood rights.

Tleiss expressed hope that Al-Asmar’s leadership, working alongside Director General Dr. Mohammad Karaki, will foster administrative harmony and support the ongoing reform project of the Social Security Fund. The goal is to enhance the fund’s ability to provide social and health care and ensure the sustainability of services for insured workers.
