Bishop Cesare Di Pietro visits community and maritime services in Locri-Gerace

Mons. Cesare Di Pietro, Bishop of the Diocese of Locri-Gerace, has conducted a series of visits to institutional and community organizations within the diocese.

In Riace, the Bishop visited the Azione Cattolica Adult Camp. During this meeting, he shared personal reflections on his own history with the association and encouraged members to continue their service to the Church. The event was attended by diocesan leadership and numerous members.

Additionally, Mons. Di Pietro visited the Maritime District Office of the Italian Coast Guard in Roccella Jonica. He met with Lieutenant Marco Di Benedetto and personnel to learn about maritime environmental protection and search and rescue operations, which saved approximately 1,500 people last year. The Bishop toured a photographic exhibition and boarded a patrol boat, describing the Coast Guard personnel as ‘angels of the sea’ and ‘missionaries of hope’ for their service.
