Bishop of Pasto calls for peace and forgiveness in Sandoná

Bishop Juan Carlos Cárdenas Toro of the Diocese of Pasto visited Sandoná, Nariño, to preside over the confirmation of 175 individuals. During the event, he emphasized the importance of forgiveness and reconciliation as essential tools for breaking cycles of violence.

Cárdenas Toro stated that peacebuilding must begin within families and communities before extending to broader society. He noted that while the Church does not take specific political stances regarding government policies, it continues to advocate for negotiated solutions to conflicts and the promotion of peace through daily interpersonal actions.
