Bishop Savino addresses Mediterranean migrant crisis

Bishop Francesco Savino, Vice President of the Italian Episcopal Conference, issued a message for the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees. He addressed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean, describing the sea as “a ruthless mirror in which our humanity drowns.”

Savino highlighted the violence and indifference faced by migrants, noting the physical and psychological scars left by their journeys. He specifically emphasized the plight of children separated from their families and called for communities to embrace solidarity rather than rejection.
