Bishop Sztajerwald addresses trend of outdoor weddings

Bishop Tomasz Sztajerwald of the Warsaw-Praga Diocese has addressed the growing trend of couples requesting outdoor weddings, such as ceremonies by lakes or in forests. He noted a slight increase in these requests, attributing the desire for scenic, memorable settings to the influence of modern culture and romantic films.

However, the Bishop emphasized that the Catholic Church does not support outdoor weddings. He stated that the most appropriate place for a marriage is a temple, as marriage is a sacrament where the couple stands before God. He warned that focusing too heavily on external aesthetics and scenery can cause couples to lose sight of the spiritual essence of the sacrament.
