Bishops Bay targets Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile after Ack Ack win

Bishops Bay is set to compete in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile following a victory in the Grade 3, $399,000 Ack Ack Stakes at Churchill Downs. The horse, trained by Brad Cox, defeated Coal Battle by a head to secure the win.

Pedro Lanz, agent for KAS Stables, confirmed the Breeders’ Cup plans via social media, praising the horse’s resilience and heart. The Ack Ack Stakes has historically served as a precursor to the Dirt Mile, with 10 of the last 13 winners advancing to the event. This year’s Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile is scheduled to take place at Keeneland on Saturday, Oct. 31.
