Bishops meet in Riva del Garda to discuss religious heritage and tourism

Four Italian bishops met in Riva del Garda to discuss the management and protection of religious heritage and its role in local tourism. The meeting included the bishops of Mantua, Brescia, Verona, and Trento.

Archbishop Lauro Tisi of Trento proposed establishing a permanent working group among the involved dioceses to share best practices and experiences. The discussions focused on how ecclesiastical assets can support spiritual needs for the tens of thousands of annual visitors to the Lake Garda region, while also addressing broader social issues and the housing emergency caused by high tourism demand. Tisi emphasized the need for communication and cooperation to address these complex territorial challenges.
