Bison Futé warns of heavy traffic during French holiday returns
Bison Futé has issued warnings regarding heavy traffic across France as summer holiday returns peak between August 21 and 24. National forecasts indicate very dense traffic on roads for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
On Friday, August 21, traffic is expected to be difficult on routes leading toward the North, Grand-Ouest, and South-West. The day is classified as orange at the national level, with particularly difficult conditions expected in southern France. In the Bouches-du-Rhône region, the Orange – Lançon axis may see red-level congestion.
Saturday, August 22, is expected to see massive congestion, particularly around the Mediterranean arc and the A7 motorway near Marseille. Traffic jams are anticipated to persist from early morning until late afternoon. Sunday, August 23, will also see significant movements on routes serving the South-East, the Atlantic coast, and central France.
By Monday, August 24, traffic is expected to be generally fluid, though some local congestion may remain in the South-West.
