BISON reports tripling of female new clients in crypto trading

Data from the Stuttgart-based crypto trading platform BISON indicates a significant increase in female participation within the cryptocurrency market. The share of female new clients rose from seven percent in 2019 to 23 percent in 2025.

While Bitcoin remains the most popular asset for both genders, female users show distinct investment behaviors. Approximately 82 percent of female BISON clients hold Bitcoin, compared to 76 percent of male clients. Ethereum and XRP are the next most popular assets, held by 53 percent and 35 percent of women, respectively.

Female investors tend to favor long-term strategies and less diversification. About 67 percent of women utilized a buy-and-hold approach over the last year, whereas 58 percent of men followed the same pattern. Additionally, roughly half of female investors traded only a single coin, compared to 41 percent of men.
