Bisons Loimaa and Salon Vilpas face off in Suomen Cup

Bisons Loimaa and Salon Vilpas will face each other in a Suomen Cup group stage match in Loimaa. While both teams have already secured their places in the next round of the tournament, the match carries strategic importance. The winner will earn a top seed in the second-round draw, allowing them to avoid facing group winners Seagulls, KTP, or Kouvot.

Bisons Loimaa enters the match looking to fine-tune their rhythm ahead of the upcoming Korisliiga season. Head coach Michael Pounds noted that since their advancement is already guaranteed, the team can focus on their own performance rather than the pressure of the opponent. The team has recently dealt with a flu outbreak that forced the cancellation of two practice matches.

Salon Vilpas arrives following a demanding international schedule, having recently secured a spot in the Champions League group stage. The team faces a quick turnaround after traveling through Bulgaria and playing matches against Levice, Bakken, and Oradea. Despite the fatigue and the absence of players Xavier DuSell and Mikko Koivisto, the Finnish champions continue their active competitive schedule.
