Bistrița Mayor Gabriel Lazany orders redo of poor bicycle path repair

Bistrița Mayor Gabriel Lazany has publicly criticized the poor quality of a recent bicycle path repair on Petru Maior Street. Describing the work as an ‘art piece’ in an ironic manner, the mayor announced that the repair will be redone due to its substandard execution by the asphalt structure within the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services.

This incident is being used to justify an ongoing administrative reorganization of the Bistrița City Hall, which is expected to conclude by the end of October. The restructuring will involve reducing the number of positions within the Directorate of Infrastructure and Services by over 50. Additionally, the responsibilities of the asphalt works unit will be transferred to Business Park Bistrița Sud. Lazany emphasized that organizational changes must be accompanied by a shift in mindset to ensure greater responsibility and quality in public works.
