Bita Water Supply System in Luanda reaches 52% completion

The Bita Water Supply System project in Luanda, Angola, has reached approximately 52% physical execution across its 13 construction lots. Managed by the Ministry of Energy and Water, the project is designed to address urban and demographic growth by improving the availability, regularity, and quality of potable water.

The infrastructure includes a water treatment plant with a capacity of 295,200 cubic meters per day, supported by a distribution network of approximately 3,500 kilometers of piping. The system aims to provide roughly 170,000 new household connections, benefiting between 2.5 and 4 million citizens across the municipalities of Belas, Kilamba, Camama, and Talatona.

Physical construction is scheduled for completion in December 2026. Following this, a commissioning phase involving pressure tests and operational startup is expected to begin in January 2027 to validate the system's efficiency before full service commences.
