Bitcoin $1 million price target by 2030 is mathematically impossible, says analyst
Markus Thielen, head of research at 10x Research, has characterized the prediction of Bitcoin reaching $1 million by 2030 as ‘mathematically impossible’. Thielen argues that such a price target would require a nearly 16x increase from current levels, resulting in a market capitalization of approximately $20 trillion.
To achieve this valuation, Thielen estimates that Bitcoin would need to attract an additional $15 trillion in capital inflows over the next four years. This amount represents roughly 25% of the total value of the US stock market. He contends that the global financial system currently lacks the necessary liquidity to support such a massive influx of capital within that timeframe.
Thielen also noted that retail sentiment often weakens as prices rise, as many investors prefer owning whole units of an asset rather than fractions, a psychological barrier that may impact adoption at higher price points.
