Bitcoin recovers to $82,000 amid inflation and ETF outflow concerns

Bitcoin has rebounded to approximately $82,000 following a period of volatility where it briefly dipped below $80,000. This recovery comes despite significant macroeconomic headwinds, including higher-than-expected US inflation data, with the September Consumer Price Index rising 3.7% and the Producer Price Index jumping 6.3% year-over-year. These figures have fueled concerns regarding potential Federal Reserve interest rate hikes.

Institutional demand has also faced pressure, as US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $838 million in net outflows over a two-week period. While BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust saw significant inflows, other major funds experienced substantial redemptions.

Market analysts remain divided on future price directions. Bloomberg Intelligence strategist Mike McGlone warned that a 20% correction in US stock markets could potentially drive Bitcoin down to $10,000, citing its sensitivity to liquidity and risk appetite. Conversely, analyst Darkfost challenged this view, noting that there is no historical precedent for such a massive decline in Bitcoin following a standard equity market correction.

Other market factors influencing sentiment include fluctuating oil prices, with Brent crude trading near $107-$109 per barrel, and shifting trends in technology stocks. Meanwhile, corporate accumulation continues, with Strategy increasing its total holdings to 848,250 BTC.
