Bitcoin enters early bull market stage as Bull Score hits 80
Bitcoin has entered what analysts at CryptoQuant describe as the early stages of a new bull market. Following a rapid rally where the price surged approximately 24% to 28% over an eight-day period, the cryptocurrency briefly crossed the $80,000 threshold. CryptoQuant’s Bull Score, a composite indicator, jumped from 30 to 80 in a single week, marking its highest level since October 2025. Currently, eight out of ten component indicators are displaying bullish signals.
Several macroeconomic and institutional factors are driving this momentum. The U.S. Treasury announced plans to increase the cap for long-term government bond buybacks from $2 billion to at least $4 billion per transaction, which has improved market liquidity. Additionally, Donald Trump suggested that the U.S. government is considering Bitcoin purchases. Institutional demand has also surged, with U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs seeing significant net inflows, including $209 million from BlackRock on a single day.
Despite the bullish outlook, analysts warn of potential short-term volatility. Traders’ unrealized profit margins have reached 20.5%, the highest since June 2025, and large holders realized approximately $614 million in profits on August 20. To officially confirm the new bull cycle, Bitcoin must achieve a weekly close above its 365-day moving average, currently positioned near $83,000.
