Bitcoin exchange liquidity shows rising retail inflows to Binance
Bitcoin exchange activity shows shifting liquidity patterns and a notable rise in retail-classified inflows to Binance. While daily net inflows to major exchanges remained at 0 BTC as of October 10, weekly and monthly trends indicate continued net outflows. Major exchanges held approximately 2,435,394 BTC in total reserves, with Coinbase Pro holding the largest balance at 836,652 BTC.
On Binance, retail-classified Bitcoin inflows reached $10.78 billion over a 30-day period ending October 17, representing a 54% increase from the $7 billion recorded in mid-August. This growth significantly outpaced whale-classified inflows, which rose 9.5% to $4.6 billion during the same period. This widening gap suggests an increase in exchange supply from retail participants.
Wallet accumulation indicators also show movement. The 60-day accumulation for wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC shifted from a deficit of 62,600 BTC in late September to a surplus of 5,230 BTC by October 19. Additionally, Binance’s Tron-network Tether (USDT) reserves grew from $790 million on October 7 to $1.76 billion on October 18.
