Bitcoin faces technical resistance amid long-term growth trends

Bitcoin is currently experiencing technical volatility, with recent price action showing a struggle to break through the 82,000 USD resistance level. Analysts note that while on-chain data suggests a new cycle has begun, the market remains in a bearish trend technically, characterized by a potential triple top pattern. A failure to break resistance could lead to a pullback toward liquidity levels near 72,000 USD. Rising bond yields in the US, UK, France, Germany, and Japan are also cited as factors hindering Bitcoin's upward momentum.

In a broader historical context, Bitcoin has demonstrated unprecedented growth over the last decade. Since September 2016, when the price was approximately 600 USD, the asset has achieved an estimated annual compound return of roughly 61%. This performance significantly outperforms traditional financial assets; between 2016 and 2026, Bitcoin's total return of approximately 11,450% far exceeds the annual returns of the S&P 500 (~14%), the Nasdaq Composite (~18%), and gold (~13%).
