Bitcoin faces volatility amid central bank decisions and corporate earnings
Bitcoin and the broader cryptocurrency market face a high-volatility week driven by central bank interest rate decisions and key corporate earnings reports. On October 28, the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Canada are scheduled to announce rate decisions, followed by the European Central Bank on October 29 and the Bank of Japan on October 30.
In the corporate sector, Coinbase, MicroStrategy, and Robinhood are set to report financial results. This comes after a period of significant movement; Bitcoin recently saw a price dip toward $79,150, and U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced net outflows of approximately $773.5 million over two days in late October. Analysts from Coinbase noted that if Bitcoin fails to sustain levels between $80,000 and $82,000, prices could potentially drop toward the $73,000–$75,000 range.
Market participants are also monitoring approximately $10.9 billion in Bitcoin options expiring on October 30. While Bitcoin saw a 42.7% increase in the third quarter, breaking three consecutive bearish periods, macroeconomic factors such as liquidity measures and sovereign debt purchases continue to influence institutional demand and asset pricing.
