Bitcoin funds record inflows as $8 bn outflow streak ends
After eight consecutive weeks in which institutional crypto products lost a total of $8 billion, the outflow streak ended last week with a net inflow of $287 million, according to CoinShares. The inflows accelerated, with $415 million added on Tuesday and Wednesday, largely into Bitcoin‑focused vehicles, after softer‑than‑expected US inflation data eased expectations of further rate hikes.
CoinShares cautions that the renewed inflows do not signal a lasting trend. It expects Bitcoin to remain confined below the $80,000 psychological barrier until the Federal Reserve signals a clearer shift toward lower rates. Without such a policy change, the price ceiling is unlikely to be breached, and the recent inflows may reflect short‑covering or tactical positioning rather than a structural market turnaround.
