Bitcoin enters October amid mixed whale activity and macro uncertainty

Bitcoin is entering October following a period of consolidation and a positive third-quarter performance, having increased approximately 43% during the quarter. As the market transitions into the month colloquially known as ‘Uptober’—which has historically seen significant gains—traders are closely monitoring several key factors.

On-chain data shows mixed behavior among large investors. While Bitcoin whales have recently reduced their holdings by approximately 30,000 BTC, Ethereum whales have been accumulating assets. Technical analysts are watching the $82,000 to $85,000 range as a critical support and resistance zone. A failure to maintain these levels could lead to a pullback, while a sustained breakout could target higher prices.

Macroeconomic indicators remain central to market direction. Investors are awaiting upcoming U.S. inflation data, including the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) reports, as well as the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision scheduled for late October. Additionally, fluctuations in U.S. Treasury yields and the performance of spot Bitcoin ETFs are expected to influence volatility and demand in the coming weeks.
