Bitcoin market pressure eases as Strategy sells $216 million of BTC
Realized Bitcoin losses have fallen sharply since the February 2026 record, with daily loss pressure dropping 56.5 % from a 30‑day average of $1.37 billion to around $597 million. The decline suggests reduced panic‑selling, but the market remains fragile: 30‑day average realized gains stand at only $257 million, far below the $3.5 billion peak in December 2024.
Meanwhile, the London‑based firm Strategy disclosed a $216 million Bitcoin sale and indicated it could eventually monetize up to $1.25 billion of its holdings. The transaction has revived debate over the cryptocurrency’s “fair value” and its impact on the company’s valuation, as its shares trade below discounted‑cash‑flow estimates.
